Plant Perfume, Made Slowly in Tofino

by Tamara Neale

Plant Perfume is made by hand in small batches from our little surf town of Tofino on Vancouver Island.
Each bottle is created using vegan, ethically sourced, 100% natural, plant-powered ingredients and blended with pure essential oils so it can be used on your body, linen, or in your scared spaces - I even keep a bottle in my car!

It’s simple, everyday scent — made from real plants, not synthetic fragrance.
Something gentle you can reach for without overthinking it.

What’s Inside

Every blend begins with a clean, intentional base:

  • distilled water

  • witch hazel

  • seasonal, made in my alembic copper still - hydrosols (wild botanical waters)

  • organic fractionated coconut oil

  • custom coastal blends of pure essential oils

Each one is poured into a 100 ml amber glass bottle with a fine black spray top to protect the botanicals and keep the ritual easy.

How to use:
Give the bottle a gentle shake, then mist onto skin, pillows, sheets, or into the air around you.

The Five Blends

Forest Bathing

This is the grounding blend.
A mix of vetiver, sandalwood, cedarwood, pine, and fir, inspired by slow walks beneath the tall cedars in Pacific Rim National Park.

Woodsy, calm, and steady — the one people reach for when they want the day to feel a little quieter.

DOZE

Created with evenings in mind.
Lavender, ylang-ylang, and cedarwood come together in a soft floral blend that supports winding down before sleep.

Spritz it onto pillows, pajamas, or the air beside the bed as a gentle signal that it’s time to rest.

Stubbs Island

Bright, balanced, and lightly citrus-floral.
Blended with lemon, sweet orange, pink grapefruit, lemongrass, jasmine, rose geranium, and lavender, and inspired by the small island just off Tofino’s shoreline.

Fresh and uplifting — often used to reset a room or bring a little lightness into the middle of the day.

Flower Power

A full floral moment.
Lavender, ylang-ylang, rhododendron, magnolia, jasmine, and rose geranium blended for a peaceful, heart-softening feel.

This is the one many people reach for during baths, slow evenings, or quiet self-care time.

Wild Rose / Cedar & Rose — The Signature

The scent that quietly began everything.
Cedarwood paired with rose geranium, balancing earthy depth with soft floral warmth.

Simple, familiar, and easy to wear every day.

Everyday Ways to Use Plant Perfume

Most people don’t use plant perfume in big, ceremonial ways.
They use it in small, real-life moments:

  • misting the bed before climbing in

  • freshening a room after a long day

  • wearing it as a light natural scent on the skin

  • bringing it to yoga, meditation, or travel

  • keeping one nearby for stressful afternoons

Little pauses like this can gently shift the mood of a day.

Why I Keep Making Them

I’ve always been drawn to scent, but I wanted something softer and more natural than traditional perfume — something that could live easily inside everyday routines.

Plant perfume became that quiet option.
Made slowly.
Rooted in plants.
Created here on the coast, to be used wherever life happens.
