Spring is returning to the coast, bringing longer light, fresh air, and the quiet feeling of beginning again.

The Hobbyist is a small-batch, family-run studio based in Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island. From our coastal home, we craft holistic home and body goods — botanical soaps, coastal candles, salt soaks, plant perfumes, and essential-oil blends — made slowly by hand using non-toxic, plant-powered, ocean-safe ingredients.

Everything we create is shaped by this place and guided by care.

I’m Tam — mother, maker, and founder. Together with my family and our small studio team, I create each seasonal offering using ethically foraged botanicals, organic oils and butters, and pure essential oils. When you choose The Hobbyist, you’re supporting real hands, a working family, and a dream built slowly.
