WHAT MAKES IT SOAP
Sodium Hydroxide / Lye
Soapmaking ingredient
Cold-process soap cannot be made without lye. Sodium hydroxide reacts with oils and butters through saponification, transforming them into soap and naturally occurring glycerin.
In a properly formulated and cured bar, the sodium hydroxide has been consumed by the soapmaking reaction.
Water
Soapmaking process
Used to dissolve the sodium hydroxide and facilitate saponification. Much of it evaporates during curing.
CLAYS + MINERALS
Different bars use different combinations.
White Kaolin Clay — fine mineral clay; silkiness + gentle absorbency
French Green Clay — natural colour + absorbency
French Pink Clay — soft natural colour + texture
Purple Clay — mineral-based colour
Rhassoul Clay — Moroccan mineral clay; texture + absorbency
Canadian Marine Glacial Clay — Canadian sea silt; colour + texture
Vancouver Island Sea Salt — locally made salt; hardness + texture
PLANT POWDERS
Activated Bamboo Charcoal — deep natural colour + absorbency
Kelp Powder — marine botanical + natural colour
Spirulina Powder — botanical green colour

CURED FOR WEEKS
After each batch is poured, the bars are unmoulded, cut and left to cure for weeks. During curing, water evaporates and the bars become harder and longer lasting.

A vegan diffuser base derived primarily from sustainably sourced, soya-based glycerin.
It acts as a solubilizer and carrier, helping the essential oils move through the reeds and disperse consistently.
The base is formulated with 0% VOC content. Its complete chemical composition is proprietary to the manufacturer.

We aren't chasing a perfect ingredient list.
We're trying to make thoughtful, well-formulated offerings using ingredients we understand and can stand behind.
That means using plants where they make sense. Functional ingredients where they're necessary. Preservatives in formulas that require them. And continuing to question, learn and improve what we make.
If it's in the bottle, bar, jar or candle, you should be able to know what it is and why it's there.
That's the standard we're working toward.
